Last night we were exiting the ballpark and staring me in the face was the back of some guy’s neck…and the words “Shit Happens” in big block letter were staring me in the face! Tattooed. On the back of his neck. Forever!
That officially began my list of “The Stupidest Tattoo’s I’ve Ever Seen In Person”. Earlier, the very same night at the ballpark, I saw a woman with the Seattle Mariner’s logo tattooed on the center of her back, and it was ridiculously big I’m talking 10 inches tall. I’m sorry, no one is THAT big a fan.
It was our annual trip to Safeco to see Jay’s godfather (I brought the “real” camera this time). It was a beautiful night. Great seats. Good baseball. ‘Til Next Year…

The first time Wicked came to Seattle we missed out because tickets were sold out in an instant. I was devastated because I had been waiting for it to make it’s appearance in the Northwest. This time we were prepared. My sister & I signed up for an enewsletter that gave us “pre-sale” access, and it was game on. I watched the clock change to 9am (when the pre-sale started), and with lightening fast computer skills I clicked my way to 3 seats on the center floor in September, and we will FINALLY get to see it.
My sister called today and told me she had seen a goose get hit & killed by a car the other day on a road she drives frequently. As if that wasn’t tragic enough, she told me that geese mate for life, and she has driven by the same spot many times since then. Every time she drives by she’s sees it’s mate (alive & well) sitting next to the dead one. Just sitting there, waiting… Is that not the saddest thing? It breaks my heart and I don’t even like birds! It’s like “The Notebook” with geese.
Thank you to everyone who donated for St. Baldricks this year to help fight childhood cancer, Irish style! Jay raised about $950 on his own, just shy of his goal, but the team, “P-Didd’s Boys” led by Patrick Rosenthal (age 5), exceeded their goal and raised $4,590 and counting…and none of them have any hair to speak of.

It’s Friday night. My husband is on the other side of the country, Murphy is at my feet. I was poking around Facebook and discovered the blog of an old friend. A 2nd grade best friend who used to call me “plum head”. A friend who had a teenage brother, with a dirty room and money on the floor we could scour and take to Osco Drug to buy candy without him even noticing his change was gone. In reading her posts I learned a lot about her life of late, and was happy to learn things, and know more, and she even inspired me to write this…and be thankful for all my friendships. Old ones. New ones. Sister ones. Rekindled ones. Even the ones that are MIA. There really is nothing better.
HD Creative is now on Facebook, be a fan!
Jay got me an intro to ballroom dancing class for Christmas and this morning we learned to waltz, and cha cha cha. It was alot of fun and we are looking forward to taking some more classes.
Happy Birthday Marisa!
Jay is shaving his head again this year with St. Baldricks to benefit childhood cancer research. He has joined Patrick Rosenthal’s team, Jay’s semi-surrogate nephew. Patrick is 5 years old and has made the decision to shave his head this year with the big boys. He realized first hand that doing this will help kids like the little boy in his class who lost his leg to cancer. I know money is tight these days, but it’s for a good cause! Even just $5 will help. Donate now >
